Since 2015, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) has organized an annual Palestine Advocacy Day and Training weekend to educate students, community activists, and organizers – young and old – on civic engagement and policy work exclusively on the issue of Palestine.
Hosted by Americans for Justice in Palestine Action (AJP Action), a new 501(c)(4) affiliate organization of AMP, Palestine Advocacy Days will be virtual this year, so advocates can lobby for Palestine from the comfort of their homes, from September 27th to October 1st, 2021.
Day 1: Advocacy Training Sessions
Session 1: WHAT ARE OUR LEGISLATIVE ASKS?
This session is an overview of the legislative and policy issues we’ll be addressing in our meetings with Members of Congress. Hear some inspiring success stories from experienced legislative advocates.
Session 2: HOLDING EFFECTIVE MEETINGS WITH YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
How to make our interactions with Members of Congress effective and build long-term relationships to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Day 2: Online Public Plenaries
Session 1: ENDING BUSINESS AS USUAL: ADVANCING PALESTINIAN RIGHTS IN THE BIDEN ERA
Members of Congress share their perspectives about what we can do to reorient US policy to support human rights and needs; featuring: Reps. Rashida Tlaib, André Carson, Betty McCollum, Judy Chu, Ayanna Pressley, & Dr. Osama AbuIrshaid of AJP Action.
Session 2: ENDING US COMPLICITY IN ISRAELI APARTHEID
The dams have been broken. Although much is to be done, the movement for justice in Palestine has entered the mainstream, and accountability for Israel’s actions is edging closer each day. Activists, leaders, and organizers discuss their perspectives on ending US complicity in Israeli Apartheid.

Days 3-5: Meetings with Congress
Over 750 advocates from all 50 states meet with their representatives and senators to lobby in support of Palestinian rights.
